Coastline
My family and I have always loved everything about the beach, the sand, waves, shells. My dad and I go down the Sandbridge almost every weekend in the summer to surf, so I wanted to incorporate something I love so much, the beach, with my love of ceramics. I made three coastline plates, two textured mugs, one textured short vase with a paw indention, a tall textured vase, and bubble inspired vase, and two bowls, one with sand texture, and one inspired by shells I would find while at the beach. I threw each piece on the wheel, and trimmed on the wheel as well. I wanted the texture of sand on the cylinders, so I had lots of trial and error regarding how I would make sand stick to the vases. I ended up with mixing a couple tablespoons of white sand with a slip and painting a thick layer onto the pieces. My dad recently added shelves to our dining room to display my sisters and my art. I wanted to bring the memories and good times at the beach home, so creating pieces inspired by my favorite place felt like a perfect way to bring those memories to life.

Tea set - Bubbles
I made a tea set for a project and wanted to make the teapot chape to be a circle shape, so I decided to glaze it to look like a bubble. I really liked how the glaze finished on the teapot and how there are some cracks in the glaze as well. I also made two teacups, I ran out of the blue color I used, so I did a color block with the green, yellow, pink, and purple I used to create the bubble look on the teapot.
